Title: The sunset glow of CMB

The physics of CMB is mainly explained by Thomson scattering during the recombination epoch. We can also take Rayleigh scattering into consideration, but we have not detected that yet. Observing this effect corresponds to watching neutral hydrogen atoms right after the recombination, or in the beginning of the dark age.
   In this seminar, I will show you a brief derivation of the cross section of Rayleigh scattering. Then, I will introduce how to treat this effect in CMB physics. I am also going to discuss what kind of cosmological information we can extract from this signal, and the future prospects of observations.
