Title: Collisions of superconducting strings with Y-junctions
Abstract:
In this talk, I will discuss the dynamics of Nambu-Goto and superconducting strings
with Y-junction at which three strings meet. When the two strings collide, they may
be linked by a third string with different tension (and current), instead of intercommutation.
In particular, I show the kinematical constraints on this process and the requirement to
form the Y-junction when two strings collide.
