Tony Padilla (University of Nottingham) Speaker: Tony Padilla (University of Nottingham) Title: War on Lambda: fighting the cosmological constant problem Abstract: We discuss two recent attempts to tackle the famous cosmological constant problem (CCP). We begin with a discussion of the problem, highlighting obstacles towards solving it before introducing our two distinct models. The first of these is the Fab Four model, which is able to absorb the cosmological constant through self-adjustment of a scalar field, and whose cosmology we have recently begun to develop.
