[[UTAPwiki/セミナー/初期宇宙・相対論速報]] Speaker: Naritaka Oshita (RESCEU) Title: Thermal excitation of the universe and the second law of thermodynamics Abstract: The stochastic inflation describes the thermal fluctuation of a homogeneous scalar field in a de Sitter patch. The scalar field could transient from the bottom to the top of an effective potential with a finite probability due to its thermal dissipation. However, its horizon entropy that is proportional to the inverse of the square of Hubble parameter would decrease during the transition, which apparently looks like the second law of thermodynamics was broken. I will show that taking into account the entropy production due to the cosmological decoherence leads to the consistent picture of the thermal excitation of the universe where the second law of thermodynamics can be satisfied. &br; |
